Job Description
This high propensity leadership position reports to the Chief Growth Officer and works closely with capture and proposal personnel to craft innovative technical solutions to meet the requirements described in a Federal agency Statement of Work (SOW) or Performance Work Statement (PWS). This involves writing and delivering content for contract-winning proposals. This position supports the capture of Federal agency contracts and task orders. We are seeking an articulate leader with experience delivering compelling proposal responses that result in awarded contracts. The Solution Architect authors technical approaches for Federal proposals within a planned proposal schedule and performs maintenance of the content library. This position does not have any direct reports but will require extensive leadership qualities and abilities to lead technical discussions/solutions and guide team members on due diligence requirements to furnish technical narratives that ultimately achieve winning proposals.

Due to the nature of Federal contracting, the team must remain available to work evenings and weekends, on an as needed basis.

Our strategy ensures we maintain a consistence workflow of proposals; therefore the Solutions Architect/Writer will have 1-3 concurrent assignments (e.g. RFP responses) at any given time.
Requirement :
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical related discipline or possesses at least 5 technical certifications related to services provided in any of these IT services technical domains: system development and engineering, system integration, enterprise IT support, cybersecurity, network operations, help/service desk support, program management, financial management, data management, or related IT services domain.
- Verifiable track record of unrestricted full and open federal task order awards in the last 5 years within any of the following IT services technical domains: system development and engineering, system integration, enterprise IT support, cybersecurity, network operations, help/service desk support, program management, financial management, data management, or related IT services domain.
- 5 to 10 years of experience writing technical content for federal government RFPs.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in information technology and federal government contracting.
- Extensive experience in government contracting, especially working in the Federal Defense or Civilian agencies, in lead technical roles (Architecture, Systems Design, or Development).
- Possess an excellent overall understanding of enterprise architecture, system/application architecture and processes/tools used within Federal agencies.
- Ability to tailor technical solutions to meet the government requirements and lead Technical Approach narrative.
- Exceptional written/oral communication skills.
- Exceptional time management and a history of being on time to deliver proposal assignments with an ability to size own time necessary to complete proposal assignments.
- Keen and willing to create solutions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to work within a team to boost team morale and to manage communications to be an effective member of a remote team.
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when needed for an RFP pursuit.
Job Duties :
- Possession of high leadership qualities; demonstrating ownership of technical domains and leading discussions, planning sessions, technical solutions sessions and outlines for the achievement of winning proposals.
- Subject matter expert across multiple technical domains, to include, but not limited to: Cybersecurity, Application Development/DevSecOps, Enterprise IT Infrastructure & Architecture, Network/Systems Administration, Cloud Services/Migration/O&M, and Data Management/Governance/Analytics.
- Lead discussions and write technical solutions, approach, narratives, and outlines for Federal proposal responses regarding IT Services.
- Translate Federal requirements into a comprehensive, thought-out technical response that facilitates innovation techniques and encompasses all subject matter within the requirements.
- Own the technical solution/approach for the proposal team and provide insights to internal and external team members.
- Articulate a clear vision to ensure all team members understand the technical solution.
- Leverages their industry and Federal contacts to accelerate solutions development.
- Conducts proactive customer/market research as needed on technical/functional areas to gain better understanding of customer needs to shape customer-focused responses.
- Applies win themes and strategic messaging in proposal content.
- Ensure solutions crafted provide a compelling story to meet PWS/SOW requirements.
- May deliver a level of effort and rough order of magnitude, based on PWS/SOW requirements to demonstrate capacity requirements.
- As needed, develop a winning as is/to be environment, using graphical representation, when necessary.
- Ability to craft, design, and implement graphical representations of technical approaches to depict visual comprehension of technological requirements and innovation.
- Ability to craft white paper submissions in a short turn-around for client engagements.
- Ability to meet with clients to discuss devised technical approaches and understanding of requirements; concurrently able to spearhead white-boarding sessions with clients on solutions development during/throughout engagements.
- Contribute to company proposal bid analysis processes.
- Attend proposal team stand up meetings to provide updates on progress, impediments, accomplishments.
- Incorporate feedback from reviewers to improve documents.
- Identify and rework existing proposal content for use in active bids.
- Support the maintenance of a writing team content library.
- Use OneDrive/Teams/SharePoint collaborative platform to work on content (no local copies).
- Enter assignment status into pipeline tracking system and keep it up to date. Present status updates on daily scrum call and weekly leadership call.
- Proactively communicate needs and issues ahead of deadlines.
- Strive to get proposal evaluation ratings of no less than acceptable, evidenced by strengths included in proposal debriefings.
- Work in partnership with the entire proposal team to ensure the success of a bid.
- Make critical decisions swiftly and confidently, maintaining project momentum.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of IT methodologies (e.g. ITIL, Agile, DevSecOps)
- Possesses technical skills to understand government requirements, solution needs and how to articulate an award-winning proposal.
- Understanding of relevant federal acquisition regulations.
